Alice J. Heitmann was born April 12, 1921 to Clarence and Hilda (Schrunk) Otto.
On May 20, 1941, she married Eldon Jurgen Heitmann. To this union five children were born. Alice and Eldon farmed north of Holstein for 25 years.
After they moved to town, she worked many places serving the public: Helen and Ethel’s Café, L + J’s Café, making homemade pies at Mary’s Café, as a cook at the Holstein Good Samaritan Society, and helped Maxine Arney with catering. Alice also cleaned the Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church and Rectory for many years where she was a lifetime member. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by four daughters: Jo Ann Graff of Holstein, Janice and husband, Charles Elledge of Bennington, NE, Judy and husband Terry Folsom of Manchester, IA, and Jean Bremer of Battle Creek; and one son, Jon Heitmann and wife, Pam of Holstein. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; one sister, Lorna Witt of Newton, IA; one brother, Henry Otto of Holstein, IA; and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eldon; two grandsons, Wayne Bremer and Todd Bremer; sister, Iona Fell and two sons-in-law, Doug Graff and Bob Meis.
