Alice T. Peterson

Alice Peterson was born on June 9, 1923 to Charles and Lillian (Wunshel) Galvin in Ida County, Iowa, the oldest of 15 children. Alice graduated from Aurelia High School in 1941.

She was united in marriage to Orlan Sauter on August 24, 1944. Orlie died May 31, 1951 in a tragic accident. Later she married Delbert Peterson on April 26, 1958.

Faith and her church was always an important part of her life. She accepted Christ as her Lord and was baptized at the Church of Christ in Cherokee in 1943. She was currently a member of the Church of Christ in Alta. Alice worked several different secretarial positions through the years including: Citizen’s Bank, Quaker Oats, and many years at the Iowa State Extension Office.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Orlan Sauter and Delbert Peterson; son-in-law, Roger Bailey; brothers, Paul Galvin, Donald Galvin and Larry Galvin; sister, Betty Erickson; brothers-in-law, Paul Raper and Jim Brisbois; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Galvin and Deloris Brisbois.

Survivors include her four children, Judith Sauter Bailey of Rockford, IL, Gary Sauter of Indianola, IA, Merri and Donald Post of Storm Lake, IA, and Jan Peterson and husband Jon Nedved of White Bear Lake, MN; grandsons, James (Alison) Sauter, Chris (Beth) Sauter, Michael Bailey, Andrew, Matthew and Joseph Post, and Kyle Bjostad; granddaughters, Katherine Post and Madison Bjostad; great-grandchildren, Teegan and Ady Sauter, Tanner Ginn and Jobee Sauter; siblings, Charles and Tena Mae Galvin, Bonnie Raper, Robert and Ardiss Galvin, Garold and Ila Galvin, Leland Galvin, Jean and Loren Neville, Patricia Peterson, Carol and Bernard Peterson, and Sandy and John Zimmerman; sisters-in-law, Imogene Galvin, Sharon Galvin; and many nieces and nephews.
