Arliss Ann (Bendixen) Todd was born November 9, 1934 in Battle Creek, Iowa to Raymond and Gladys (Janssen) Bendixen. She was baptized and confirmed in Christian faith at Friedens Evangelical Church in Schleswig, Iowa. She graduated from Santa Barbara High School in California in 1952. Arliss married Glenn Todd December 29, 1953 in Schleswig, Iowa. To this union three children were born: Cindy, Craig, and Corine. They celebrated 53 wonderful years of marriage together until Glenn’s death on December 4, 2007.
Arliss was a stay at home farm wife who helped with chores. She loved to bake and try new recipes and was always hauling meals to the field. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family will always remember her influence in their lives through her love, strength, words of wisdom, and most importantly her Christian values.
Arliss was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; her parents, Raymond and Gladys Bendixen; her parent-in-laws, George and Mary Todd; brother and sister-in-laws, Raymond and Marie Jepsen, Delbert Kohn, Albert and Lorine Todd, and Louie Todd.
Left to cherish her memory are son, Craig (Gloria) Todd of Washta, Iowa; daughters, Cindy (Doug) Barry of Holstein, Iowa, and Corine (Patrick) Krapfl of Cedar Park, Texas; eleven grandchildren, Brian (Sarah) Clark, David (Toni) Clark, Scott (Natasha) Clark, Jodi (Evan) Johnson, Cammy (Shawn) Stricklett, Matthew, Stacey, and Larson Todd, Shane Pierce, Chad (Ashley) Pierce, and Cassandra Krapfl; three step grandchildren, Anthony, Naomi, and Scott Krapfl; thirteen great-grandchildren, Christian, Rachel, Devin, Samantha, Adria, Alexa, Allie, Adalyn, Brock, Bodie, Beckett, Cadence, and Reid; seven step great-grandchildren, Tyler, Zach, Tanner, Maddy, Shaylee, Bella, and Sophia; one step great great-grandson, Tatum; brother, Jerry Bendixen of Schaller, Iowa; brother and sister-in-laws, Irene Kohn of Battle Creek, Iowa, Pete and Betty Paulsen of Holstein, Iowa, Norman and Mary Lou Carstensen of Ida Grove, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
