Avonne C. Frederickson was born on October 15, 1931 to Carl and Hazel (Peterson) Kruse in Chicago, IL. She moved to Alta as a young girl. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Avonne graduated from Highview School in 1949.
In 1950, Avonne was united in marriage to Donovon Frederickson. The couple farmed north of Alta. To this union three children were born.
Avonne graduated from nursing school in Cherokee in 1970, and then worked as a nurse at Sioux Valley Hospital in Cherokee. She also owned Avonne’s café in Alta. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was a member of various boards and was the choir director. She also helped start the Payee Program in Buena Vista County.
She was preceded in death by her parents and special friend, LaVern Anderson.
Avonne is survived by her children, C. Wayne Frederickson and wife Trina of Bozeman, MT, Donna and husband Tommy Kelly of Victorville, CA, and Dalton Frederickson and wife Chari of Sheridan, WY; grandchildren, Dr. Wayne Anthony and wife Susan of Livingston, MT, Donovaon and wife Kelsie of Bozeman, MT, Chad Cooly and wife Rosie of AZ, Christina and husband Gorge Muratalla of CA, Charis and husband Greg Stubin of MN, Noelle and husband Aaron Morford of Brookings, SD, Maggie Fredrickson of Buffalo, WY and Jenna Fredrickson of Sheridan, WY; 10 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Cindy Shearer; sister, DaMaris and husband Eldo Schornhorst of Iowa City, IA; brother, Carl Wendell and wife Diane Kruse of Germantown, TN; and nieces and nephews, Mark Kruse, Paul Kruse, Steve Schornhorst and Joyce Schornhorst Edfors.
