Beverly Jean (Peters) Kraft

Beverly J. Kraft, age 79, of Pleasant Hill, IA formerly of Holstein, IA and May City, IA passed away on Monday, June 20, 2022 at the Genesis Senior Living Center of Des Moines.  A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 24, 2022 at 10:00 AM at the Liberty Cemetery of Calumet, IA with Chris Friest officiating.  Burial will be at the Liberty Cemetery of Calumet.  A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2022 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Holstein.

Beverly Jean Kraft was born on July 15, 1942,  the daughter of Robert Albert and Francis Vivian Peters in Hartley Iowa. Beverly worked at Reds Café in Hartley. Beverly was a stay-at-home mom while her kids were growing up near Calumet, Iowa. Beverly worked 26 years at Prairie View Nursing Home as a CNA/CMA until she retired in 2005.

Beverly was united in marriage with Mickey Joe Kraft of May City on May 25, 1996 in Primghar, Iowa. They resided in their home in May City, Iowa.

Beverly was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church in May City.

Beverly enjoyed visiting with her family, sewing, quilting, coffee with May City gang, camping, and riding with Mickey on his Goldwing.

On Monday June 20, 2022, Beverly took the train home, as her grandson said, with family by her side at the age of 79. She is preceded in death by husband, Mickey Kraft; first husband, Jim L. Miller; parents, Robert and Francis Peters; parents-in-law, Mildred and Elmer Kraft, and sister, Shirley Miller.

Left to cherish her memory are sister, Edna Shuck of Spencer; children Jimmy L. Miller (Deb) of Schaller, IA, Mary Reisdorph (Rex) of Pleasant Hill, IA, Dale Miller (Brenda) of Calumet, IA; grandchildren, Jason Miller (Jacque) of Cherokee, IA, Jenny Bailey (Mike) of Schaller, IA, Justin Miller of Battle Creek, IA, David Friest (Chris) of Des Moines, IA, Ashley Rothmeyer (Kyle) of Grimes, IA, Cassondra Reisdorph of Des Moines, IA, Neil Nelson (Amber) of Dallas Center, IA and Tate Nelson (Michele) of Wayne, NE; 22 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by bonus kids Michael Kraft (Barb) of Jacksonville, FL, Mitzi Glade (Dwight) of Ocheyedan, IA and Melisa Elsing (Sean) of Worthington, MN; nine bonus grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
