Holstein

Brent A. Poller “Smokey”, age 53, of Holstein, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at the Correctionville Specialty Care of Correctionville. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Holstein with the Rev. Janell L. Norton officiating. Burial will be held at a later date. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Holstein.  The Poller family requests that attendees of the service wear their favorite sports clothing.

Brent Allen Poller was born in Fort Dodge, IA to Eldon and Karen (Boettcher) Poller. He was a graduate of Alta High School in Alta, IA. He then went on to earn a degree in Architectural Drafting and Engineering from WITCC in SIoux City, IA.
Brent married the love of his life, Rochelle Boettcher on November 11, 2006 in Sioux City, IA. To this union came their twin boys, Izaak and Jacob.
Brent worked a majority of his 20's and early 30's at Wells Dairy in LeMars, IA, and for the past 12 years worked for Tyson Fresh Meats with the most recent location being at the Dakota City, NE plant.
Brent loved spending time with his family and friends, striking up good conversation. He had a passion for playing darts and was an excellent shooter. He played many years, winning numerous tournaments from local to state. He was even mentioned in Bullshooter Magazine many years ago. He has been a Dallas Cowboys devotee since he was 11 years old and has rarely missed watching a game.
He is survived by his wife Rochelle Poller of Holstein, IA; sons Izaak and Jacob of Holstein, IA; father Eldon Poller of Storm Lake, IA; brothers Todd Poller of Des Moines, IA and Kevin Poller of San Diego, CA; mother-in-law LeAnn Boettcher of Madison, SD; brother-in-law Robbi Boettcher (Jackie Raml) of Madison, SD; his beloved dogs Lexi and Dozer; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Brent was preceeded in death by his mother Karen, father-in-law Gary Boettcher, sister Theresa Poller and 3 dogs that he loved so much.


In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Poller family at this time.
