Christopher Leonard Degen

Christopher L. Degen, age 69, of Storm Lake, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at the Unity Point Health – Iowa Methodist Medical Center of Des Moines.  A funeral mass will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023 at 10:30 AM at the Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church of Holstein with the Fr. Dan Rupp officiating.  Burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery of Holstein.  There will be no visitation.

Christopher Leonard Degen was born May 4, 1954 in Kansas City, MO to Leonard and Virginia (Roben) Degen. A lifelong resident of northwest Iowa, Chris graduated from Aurelia High School and then earned several degrees from Buena Vista University.

Chris was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Storm Lake.  He enjoyed reading and listening to classical music.

He is survived by his sister, Elisabeth (Steve) Hotvedt of Sun City West, AZ; brother, Rich (Michelle) Degen of Holstein, IA; nieces and nephews, Jessica (Brien) Cosgrove of Surprise, AZ, Cole Degen of Okoboji, IA and Austin Degen of Holstein, IA.

Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Len and Virginia Degen.
