Daron K. Wanberg was born on May 4th, 1964 and passed away on March 13, 2024 after a period of illness.  He lived all of his life in the Denver area and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1982. He was an avid swimmer, skier, played on community youth soccer teams, and was a dedicated and active member of the Boy Scouts of America. He attended the University of Colorado Denver and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 1989.

In his earlier years, Daron cherished his many summer and Christmas-time visits to his grandparents and family members in Holstein and Galva, Iowa and was very fond of these two communities. He would also recall with fondness the summer trips with family to the ocean and mountains.  He loved the out-of-doors and the Colorado Rockies and hiking and fishing the mountain lakes and streams with family members and friends.

Daron was skilled in photography and in making DVDs of special events.  He had a passion for Willys early civilian jeeps and was very knowledgeable about their history and production and in their restoration.  He was a loyal member of the Flat Fender Jeep Club.

Daron will be remembered for his love for his family, his love for life and nature, and his strength and courage in managing and accepting his illness in the last few months of his life.  He will lay in rest at the Galva, Iowa Cemetery next to his mother and his brother Bryan.  Given his love of photography, the following is etched on his Graveside Monument next to an image of a camera:  He captured his love of life and nature with a heart full of kindness

As we remember Daron’s life journey, we remember that each of us has a journey to make and to cherish the moments of this journey:

The quiet evening hours;

Time with family and friends;

The beauty of a setting sun,

The changing of the seasons and wonderments of nature;

Supporting a loved one or friend in their time of difficulty;

The challenges and opportunities of each day;

Our daily tasks and work;

To share our hopes and dreams;

To laugh with others;

To cherish each moment we live.

And to cherish the giving and the receiving of love.

As St. Paul in Corinthians 13 so eloquently states:

Love is patient and kind.  Love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude.  Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at the wrong, but rejoices in the right.  Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.  Love never ends. So, faith, hope, love abide these three, but the greatest of these is love

We will remember that Daron’s life and every life is a creation of God and is of infinite good and value.  The good of Daron’s life will remain in the hearts and minds of his family and friends.

Daron, the Lord has called you

From your family and friends too,

But in our hearts, you’ll be here we know

When the fall colors start to show,

And in winter when mountains are white with snow,

And at spring when flowers start to grow,

And in the summer which warms our soul.

Dear Daron, we will miss you so.

We bid you farewell.
