Darrell Dean Gebers was born April 10, 1935 to John and Leona (Arp) Gebers, the youngest of five children. He attended country school, and then graduated in 1954 from Holstein High School.
Darrell married his high school sweetheart, Mary Ann Godbersen on March 2, 1958. They were blessed with five children: Terry, Daniel, Darin, Darci and Marci.
Darrell farmed for several years. He also worked for the Holstein Cooperative Elevator and Rupps Tire Service. He was a Ford and John Deere enthusiast. Darrell enjoyed restoring and collecting John Deere tractors. He loved driving them in parades as well as attending the Albert City Thresherman’s Days. He also enjoyed pulling cars during the demolition derby at the Ida County Fair.

He is survived by his wife Mary of Holstein, IA; children, Terry Gebers and Heather Langschwager of Holstein, Daniel (Peggy) of Holstein, Darin (Mary) of Holstein, Darci (Cody) Clifford of Aurora, SD and Marci Gebers and Jessica Page of Dell Rapids, SD; 16 grandchildren, Dawn, Justin and Brittany Ridder, Erin Gebers, Kyle Gebers, Bridget, Adam (Tammy) and Claudia Schumacher and Jon Livermore, Hilary (Craig) Grundmeier, Whitney and Josey Gebers, Kyra and Jaedyn Brevik, Gavin, Kenna and Ty Clifford; a favorite grand-dog, Holly; six great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Gebers, Devin Hare, Cali Schumacher, Carson and Dawson Schumacher and Mia Grundmeier. Darrell is also survived by his brothers, Willard and Merlin Gebers.
