David Scott Conover, also known as Scorch, was born to Chester and LouEllen (Kirkland) Conover on April 20, 1952 in Cherokee, Iowa. He grew up on the family farm in Holstein. He graduated from Holstein High School in 1969. Upon graduation he entered the Navy.
Scorch worked in bridge construction for many years. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed watching sports, gardening, the outdoors, hunting, fishing and bird watching.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gary Dean.
Scorch is survived by his brothers, Van and wife Tammy of Quimby, IA, Terry and wife Pamela of Ellensburg, WA, Clay and wife Debbie of Paso Robles, CA, Brian Mark of Council Bluffs, IA and Kirby of Council Bluffs, IA; 13 nieces and nephews; and seven great nieces and nephews.
