Debra (Susie) Susie-Lattner

Dr. Debra Susie-Lattner, age 67, of Hawthorn Woods, IL formerly of Washta passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024.  A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Cushing Cemetery of Cushing with the Rev. Marty Davis officiating.  Burial will be at the Cushing Cemetery of Cushing.

Dr. Debra Susie-Lattner, 67, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on July 17, 2024.

Born September 7, 1956 in Cherokee, IA to Elmer and Eunice Susie, she graduated from Willow High School in Quimby and attended Iowa State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She attended the University of Iowa Medical School and completed her residency at Northwestern University and later completed an MBA at the University of Tennessee. She practiced as a physician for 18 years and moved into hospital administration as Vice president of Medical Affairs at Alexian Brothers Hospital and later Chief Medical Officer with Condell Medical Center before retiring in 2020.

Among Deb’s favorite activities were annual trips to Hawaii with her sons and spending time at Agency Bay in northern Minnesota. She loved to travel with friends and family, read, play bridge, attend Hawkeye events with high school friends and visit college friends all over the U.S.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Eunice Susie.

Debra is survived by her two sons, William (Bill) Lattner and Brian Lattner, her brother, David (Linda) Susie as well as eleven nieces and nephews. Her cheery attitude and smile will be dearly missed by family and friends, her legacy of travel, reading, and family will live on in all those whose lives she touched.
