Delmar Dean Johnson

Delmar D. Johnson age 83, of Holstein, passed away on Thursday, November 09, 2023 at the Horn Memorial Hospital of Ida Grove.  A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Holstein Cemetery of Holstein with the Pastor Betty Kiboko officiating.  Burial will be at the Holstein Cemetery of Holstein.  A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2023 from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM at the Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Holstein.

Delmar Johnson, the son of Alvin and Irene (Kollbaum) Johnson, was born February 24, 1940 in Battle Creek, IA.  He attended school in Ida Grove, IA.

Delmar married Patricia Miller at Bethel Reformed Church in Sheldon, Iowa.  To this union two children were born, Stuart Dean and Sonja Jean.  They lived in Ida Grove and Holstein.  He worked for VT Industries for 36 years.  He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Holstein. Delmar enjoyed woodworking, planting his garden and spending time at the casino.

Delmar is survived by his daughter, Sonja of Sioux City, IA; a brother, Larry and wife Audrey of Holstein, IA; a sister, Jan and husband LeRoy Jacobson of Mapleton, IA; his in-laws, Mary Johnson of Ida Grove, Duane and Tillie Staedtler of Holstein, IA; William Snyder of Fargo, ND; aunt, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia; son, Stuart; parents, Alvin and Irene; a sister, Diane Schmidt and a brother, Ron Johnson.
