Doris Elaine Ostermann was born on May 19, 1925, to George and Amalia (Wassman) Ostermann in Ocheyedan, IA. She was baptized and attended Christian day school at Zion Lutheran, Ocheyedan, and completed two years of high school in Ocheyedan. She graduated from Concordia High School in Seward, Nebraska, then continued her education at Concordia Teacher's College in Seward. She began teaching lower elementary education at Zion Lutheran Day School, rural Storm Lake, IA, in 1945, and taught for four years. On June 13, 1948, she married Lorenz (Bud) Boettcher. Together they made their first home in Marathon, IA, until moving to Grant Township where they lived and farmed for 45 years. Bud and Doris moved to Alta, IA in 1996. On the farm they raised their three children; Joan, Jeffrey, and Karla. Bud and Doris, married nearly 65 years, were lifelong active members of Zion Lutheran Church, rural Storm Lake, IA. Doris was a homemaker, teacher, and an accomplished seamstress. She loved music, reading, and dearly loved her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Muriel, Erma, and Norma Jean (Charles) Roth; brothers, Dennis (Shirley) Ostermann and Robert Ostermann; and sister-in-law, Evelyn Ostermann. Doris is survived by her husband, Bud, Alta, IA; daughter, Joan Kersten, Fairbanks, Alaska; son, Jeffrey (Judy) Boettcher, Storm Lake, IA; and daughter, Karla (Rob) Lyngstad, Fargo, ND; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Joan's family: Amy (Gedney) Riley and Emma, Jason (Kim) Kersten, Ryan (Justine) Kersten, Dane, Presley, Beck and Deacon, Jeni (Aaron) Crowder, Jessica (Anthony) Stong and Liam. Jeffrey's family: Abigail (Jeremy) Davis, Landry and Milloy, Emily (Rob) Ellefson, and Addalyn Boettcher. Karla's family: Katie (Joshua) Johnson, Brady and Beckett, and John (Alexandra) Lyngstad. She is also survived by her brothers, Wallace Ostermann, Vernon (Vi) Ostermann, Paul (Joan) Ostermann, and Mervin (Roz) Ostermann; sisters-in-law Eileen Ostermann and Glenda Kamrath; and many nieces and nephews.
