Doris (Johnson) Peterson was born March 27, 1921 in Alta, Iowa, the daughter of Ross and Winnie Johnson. She married Glen Peterson on April 18, 1948. They moved to Norfolk, NE in 1960 where they made a home and raised their two daughters. In 1989, they relocated to Davenport, IA to be near their grandchildren.
Doris was a longtime member of Eastern Star. In addition to her family, she loved spending time with her cats and many friends. She enjoyed bowling and was an avid football fan, especially loyal to the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glen; brother Glenn Johnson; and daughter, Susan.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon and husband, Louis Freedman of Bettendorf, IA; and two granddaughters, Heather and Cassidy Freedman.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 27, 2013 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Alta.
Funeral:
Doris A. Peterson, age 92, of Alta, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at the Bettendorf Health Care Center of Bettendorf. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Alta
Burial:
Burial will be at the Woodlawn Cemetery of Alta.
