Dorothy Dutler was born April 18, 1926 on a farm north of Holstein, Iowa, the daughter of John and Elsie (Dittmer) Wiese. Dorothy attended Griggs #3 country school, graduating from Holstein Public Schools in 1943 as valedictorian of her class. After graduating she worked as a typist for the U.S. Corps of Engineers at Clock Tower in Rock Island, Illinois. She attended Iowa State Teachers College and taught in Quimby and Cushing.
On June 22, 1947 she married Don Dutler. He preceded her in death November 1, 2002. She and Don lived on a farm north of Holstein until retiring to town where they enjoyed golf and cards.
Survivors include her children, Don (Deb) Dutler of Winthrop, IA, Cindy Klein of Cedar Rapids, IA; and Lorna Uehle (Ray) of Danbury, IA; 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Bev Rusch and Shirley (Dan) Henderson; sisters-in-law, Elsie Dutler and Delores Parker.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother Clifford Wiese; two sisters Winola Wienert and Donna Gottwald; and son-in-law, Jim Klein.
