Elaine A. Fitch was born in Battle Creek, Iowa to Tommy and Doris (Thomas) Iwen. She lived her entire life in Battle Creek, Correctionville and Quimby, Iowa.
In December 1955, she married Jerry R. Fitch. To this union six children were born. They farmed until Jerry passed away in December of 2007.
Elaine was preceded in death by her husband and parents; her parents-in-law, Lola and Leslie Fitch; one sister, Sheryll Riessen; a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Warren Fitch; and brothers-in-law, Bill Biery, Wayne Koskovich, Stanley Fitch, and Cyril Fitch.
Survivors include her children, Kirk (Michelle), Cindee (Steve Anderson), Brenda (Jeff) Hayes, Tim, Jeff (Naoko) and Bart; nine grandchildren, Holly Anderson Clark (Ryan), Kevin Anderson (Lacey), Evan Fitch, Ryan Fitch, Jessica Fitch, John Fitch, Kelsey Clark, Morgan Fitch and Camryn Fitch; two great-granddaughters, Carlee Anderson and Ellison Clark; and her beloved dog Teddy. She is also survived by four sisters, Irene Putnam (Bernard Stief), Lois (Pete) Wolterman, Inez (Bill) Biery, and Yvonne (Richard) Ewoldt and one brother-in-law, Ronald Reissen. Other survivors include sisters-in-law, Norma Mathers, Betty Fitch, Grace Groszkrueger, Geraldine Fitch, Alta (Danny) Clark, Marie Koskovich and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation:
A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Funeral:
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 10:30 AM at the Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Correctionville with Brian Mathers officiating.
Burial:
Burial will be at the Correctionville Cemetery of Correctionville.
