Evelyn E (Stafford) King

Evelyn E. King, age 75, of Sioux City, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Countryside Health Care Center of Sioux City following a long-term illness.  A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 09, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Correctionville with the Rev. Kim A. Crummer officiating.  Burial will be at Correctionville Cemetery of Correctionville.  There will be no visitation.

Evelyn E. King was born July 3, 1943 to Herman and Margaret Stafford at her home in Sac City, Iowa.  She attended school through the 8th grade in Sac City.  Evelyn has spent the past 59 years in Sioux City.

Evelyn met the love of her life, Russell King, in December of 1993.  They dated for a short time until their engagement on November 9, 1994.  They were married on December 9, 1997.

Evelyn worked as a dietary aide at Casa del Paz for 28 years, then worked in the fast food industry at Burger King and Hardees for three years before retiring in 2008.  She enjoyed cooking for Russell and named their kitchen in their home Evelyn’s Blue Grass Café.  Evelyn enjoyed doing puzzles and listening to the song “Can I Have This Dance.”  She enjoyed traveling with Russell on the Regency Van Service.

She was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband, Russell.
