Evelyn Lilly Stevenson

Evelyn Lilly Stevenson, age 16, of Holstein, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023.  A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 05, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church of Holstein with the Pastor Paul Harwath officiating.  A private family burial will be at the Grandview Cemetery of Quimby.  A visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the church.

Evelyn Lilly Stevenson was born November 25, 2007 to Roxanne (Harwath) and Dave Stevenson Jr. in Cherokee, Iowa.  She was raised in Holstein, Iowa and lived there all but two years when she and her family lived in South China, Maine.  She was a sophomore at Ridge View High School and member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Evy was a loving, compassionate young lady with a heart of gold.  She was a giver of gifts, a talented artist, a protector of the innocent, and an advocate for the weak.  She never hesitated to stand up for another student at school if she felt someone was treating them poorly. She also had the most witty and sarcastic sense of humor.

She and her brother, Aiden, were besties from the start.  Being a year and a half apart, they often seemed like twins.  They got into a lot of trouble together and had a lot of fun.  And even though she once tried to list him for sale on petfinder.com when she was in elementary school, she loved him dearly.  Her sister Olivia and her cousin Trinity were always up for a game of AdoptMe that they loved to play together when we were in Maine, away from Holstein.  Her sister Ella was Evy’s whole world and focus from the moment she was born.  Ella knew that if mom said no, Evy would be there to “save” her.  She loved her younger cousins and you’d often find her playing with or holding them.

Evy is survived by her parents, Roxanne and Dave and siblings, Aiden, Olivia and Eleanora Stevenson of Holstein, IA.  She is also survived by her grandparents, Dave and Bonnie Stevenson of Holstein, IA, Renee AuMiller of Holstein, IA and Paul and Susie Harwath of Albion, Maine; great-grandparents, Bernice and Clarence Todd of Quimby, IA, Frank and Nancy Harwath of Maiden, NC, Frank and Coral AuMiller of Green Valley, AZ; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Cliff and Elsie Stevenson; and great-grandmother, Patricia AuMiller.
