Frances A. Peterson

February 11, 1933 — November 28, 2012

Frances Ann was born on February 11, 1933 to Francis E. (Bug) Castle and Anna (Ankerson) Castle of Alta, Iowa. She graduated from Alta High School in 1951. In 1955, she married Thomas S. (Pete) Peterson. To the marriage, they had two children, daughter, Sande and son, Tom.

Fran enjoyed many things in her life, family and friends being the most important. She was a self-taught wood carver and sewed Hardanger. Golf was a sport that she enjoyed throughout her life and was ready to challenge anyone to a match.

Together Pete and Fran ran The Peterson Insurance Agency for many years. After retiring they enjoyed traveling to Arizona during the winters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Pete; her sister, Barbie; and sister-in-law, Eunice.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Sande (Peterson) Rodemeyer and husband, Brian of Algona, IA and Tom Peterson of Calsbad, CA; two grandchildren, Abby Person and husband, Ryan of North Liberty, IA and Tim Rodemeyer and wife Molly of Emmetsburg, IA; three great-grandchildren, Julia, Sloan and Cael; her brother, Willis “Buster” Castle and wife Joy of Roswell, NM; brother-in-law, Les Watson of Sherman, TX; and many other family and friends.



Memorial:
A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 03, 2012 at 10:30 AM at the Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Alta with the Rev. Don E. Rothweiler officiating.


Visitation:
A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Monday December 03, 2012 from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM at the Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Alta.


Burial:
Burial will be at a later date
