Gerane E. Goettsch

October 25, 1930 — June 25, 2013

Gerane Elsa Camarigg was born on October 5, 1930, five miles southeast of Correctionville, Iowa to parents, Alvin and Elsa (Zeglin) Camarigg. She attended country school from 1st grade to 5th grade, then went to school in Cushing from 5th grade to the 10th grade. She graduated from Holstein High School in 1948. On October 9, 1949, she married Arlen Goettsch. To this union, two children were born, Cathy and Gary. They farmed on a rented farm from 1950 to 1996. Gerane helped Arlen farm until she started working at the nursing home. She graduated from nursing school in 1969 with an LPN degree. She started working for the Good Samaritan Society in 1969, but retired in 1997 to take care of a woman in her home. In November 1997, the nursing home called her back to work, but in May 2008 she retired again. Gerane and Arlen loved to dance, play cards and do crossword puzzles together. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, the UMW, Women’s Circle and was a United Methodist clown. She was president and treasurer of the UMW and Circle many times in her life. She served as president and treasurer a for the American Legion Auxiliary, and was also the county president for one year. Gerane is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers; two sisters-in-law; and a niece. She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Loof and her husband, Jim of Holstein, IA; her son, Gary and his wife Karen Goettsch of Hartley, IA; one brother, Donnie Camarigg from Surprise, AZ; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.



Visitation:
A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.


Burial:
Burial will be at the Holstein Cemetery of Holstein.
