Harold Harlan “Loafer” Goettsch went to be with Jesus on June 8, 2014. Harold was born on September 10, 1920 in Holstein, Iowa to Romey and Anna Goettsch. He graduated from Correctionville High School in 1938.
Harold was a member of the Navy in the Naval Air Corpes working as an airplane mechanic. He also polished the planes so well, that they were the planes that were always chosen to be on display. During his time in the Navy, he was also known to give the Military Police a run for their money! After the Navy, Harold worked for John Deere in Waterloo, Iowa for 27 years building transmissions. Harold always had a smile on his face. He enjoyed telling stories of growing up in Holstein. He loved watching sports and the “Price is Right.” He treasured his parents, Romey & Anna.
He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings.
Harold is survived by his two daughters, Jeanette R. Orban and husband, Leo of West Palm Beach, FL and Lynne Anne Tower of Prairie Du Chien, WI; his adopted daughter, Regena Kay Wolfe of Independence, IA; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and brother, Orville Goettsch of Antioch, CA.
He will be sorely missed, but know that he now resides asleep in Christ until that glorious day when the trumpets shall sound.
