Irene Winterhof

Irene Brown was born February 26 1918 in Linn Grove, Iowa to Lewis and Ethel (Tunsel) Brown. She graduated from Linn Grove High School in 1935. Irene was confirmed and baptized on April 24, 1939. She was united in marriage to Edgar Winterhof on December 15, 1940. To this union four sons were born, Gordon Le Roy, Warren Edgar, Kenneth Dean, and Ronald Keith. Irene enjoyed bowling, BINGO, cards, quilting and golfing. She was a member of the Galva Legion Auxiliary, a 4-H leader and a member of St. John Lutheran Ladies Aide. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Gordon Winterhof (4/25/41) and Kenneth Winterhof (2/24/04); brothers and sisters, Anita, Russell, Owen, Bob and Phyllis; daughter-in-law, Janice Winterhof; sisters-in-law, Verna Witt and Betty Mimms; and brothers-in-law, Louis Winterhof and Ernest Witt. Survivors include sons, Warren (Nancy) Winterhof of Walnut, Iowa and Ronald Winterhof of Alta; daughter-in-law, Judy Winterhof of Holstein; grandchildren, Brent (Theresa) Winterhof of Center Point, IA, JoDee Winterhof of Washington D.C., Chad (Jennifer) Winterhof of Cedar Rapids, IA, Adam (Katie) Winterhof of Denver, CO, Stephen (Janis) Winterhof of Omaha, NE, Amy (Al) Peine of Falling Waters, WV, Christine (Matthew) Wunschel of Ida Grove; great-grandchildren, Brittany (Mark) Rogers of Ida Grove, Stefan Wunschel of Ida Grove, Colby Drey-Winterhof of Sioux City, IA, Payton, Maxwell and Hayden Winterhof of Omaha, NE, Gavin (Amy) Winterhof of Alburnett, IA, Colin (Jourdi) Winterhof of Cedar Rapids, IA, Lux and Will Winterhof of Washington D.C., Breanna Winterhof of Cedar Rapids, IA, James Cooper ā€œJCā€ Winterhof of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Grace, Carolyn and Lillah Winterhof of Denver, CO; great-great-grandchildren, Colten Rogers of Ida Grove and Emmet and Lilly Winterhof of Alburnett, IA; sister-in-law, Delores (Bob) Popp of Marshalltown, IA; and George Mimms of Potomac, IL.

Burial will be at the St. John Lutheran Cemetery of rural Alta (Hanover).
