Jane Lee Prueher was born January 9, 1945 in Kingsley, Iowa the daughter of Rudy and Hertha (Rock) Hinkhouse. She grew up on the family farm west of Correctionville. After graduating from Correctionville High School in 1963, where she earned a mathematics scholarship, she attended the University of South Dakota at Vermillion, SD. Jane graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1967. Later she received her masters from the University of Wisconsin.
Jane taught junior high and high school math in Racine, WI for 37 years, retiring from Horlick High School. One of Jane’s favorite sayings was, “Numbers are your friends.”
She was united in marriage to Lee Prueher on June 14, 1969 in Racine, WI. They both loved the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers. She enjoyed spending time with her sisters, brothers and their families, plus all of her friends and other relatives.
Jane moved to Akron, Iowa in October 2013 to be near family. She became a resident of the Akron Care Center in November 2013.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; parents-in-law, Ray and Lela Prueher; three sisters, Janet, Georga and Berni; two brothers-in-law, Clayton Welch and Gary Boykin; and three beloved Schnauzer dogs, Dumpling, Barney and Babe.
Jane is survived by her sister, Carol Welch of Akron, IA; brothers, Tim Hinkhouse of Bassett, NE, and Rich (Peggy) Hinkhouse of Cherokee, IA; brother-in-law, Tom Bray of Lady Lake, FL; sister-in-law, Janie (Tony) Van Der Wielen; and many nieces and nephews.
