Janet Elizabeth (Stout) Johnson, age 62, of Holstein, IA, and formerly of Carroll, IA, passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at her home in Holstein.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll with Rev. Rick Hamilton officiating.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com

Born on May 21, 1956 in Sac City, IA, she was the daughter of Ferman and Colleen (West) Stout.  Janet grew up in Carroll and graduated from Carroll High School.  She worked at New Hope Village in Carroll for many years.  Janet was married to Randy Johnson on September 25, 2004 in Carroll, IA.  The couple moved to Missouri where she worked as a CNA in a long term care facility in Ozark, MO.  Randy passed away while they were living in Missouri and Janet moved back to Carroll.  Janet enjoyed fishing, shopping and playing cards.

Janet is survived by her son James Stout of Kentucky; six step-daughters: Julie Miller of Carroll, Jessie Tigges of Carroll, Jenny Hay of Carroll, Janyce Majerus of Glidden, Jill Potthoff of Auburn, Joy Vonnahme of Carroll; three sisters: Karen Petersen (Richard) of Holstein, Linda Fagan of Rockwell City, and Shirley Trulsen (Bruce) of Holstein; two nephews: Jason Petersen of Ida Grove, IA, and Jared Petersen of Battle Creek, IA; a niece Nichole Birch of Galva, IA; her step-mother Pat Stout of Ralston; her step-brothers: Kevin Hike of Lake City and Kenny Hike of Des Moines; and her step-sisters: Kathy Edwards of Carroll and Karla Fischer of Rockwell City.

Janet was preceded in death by her father Ferman Stout; her mother Colleen Wright; her brother Bruce Wright; her stepfather Don Wright; step-sister Kim Bird; and her husband Randy Johnson.
