Jeffrey D. Kolb, age 56, of Colorado Springs, CO, formerly of Holstein, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at the Penrose – St. Francis Hospital of Colorado Springs, CO. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church of Holstein with the Rev. Doresa K. Collogan officiating. There will be a luncheon immediately following the service at the church.
Jeffrey Dean Kolb was born April 27, 1960 at the Ida Grove Hospital, the son of Dennis C. and Betty J. Kolb. He was baptized at the United Methodist Church in Holstein.
Jeff grew up working on his family farm in Holstein. He graduated from Holstein High School in 1979, where he excelled in football, basketball and track, and then attended Morningside College in Sioux City to play football.
He moved to Colorado in his early 20’s, where he raised his two children. He loved to go back to his lake house in Okoboji and spend summers there with his parents and family.
He enjoyed boating, grilling on his patio, attending his daughter’s track meets, watching football, fishing and golf. Jeff was hard working and dedicated to providing for his family. He worked in agricultural and chemical sales.
He is survived by his mother, Betty Jean Kolb of Holstein, IA; a daughter, Chandler Ardell Kolb of Colorado Springs, CO; a son, Cameron Dean Kolb and wife Jamie Marie of Denver, CO; and his beloved Chihuahua, Pade.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis C. Kolb; grandparents, Roscoe and Pearl Kolb and Ted and Helen Clark.
