Jimmie Lewis

Jimmie R. Lewis, of Battle Creek, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 15th, 2025, at 10:30 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church of Battle Creek with the Pastor Jim Edwards officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service starting at 9:30 A.M. Burial will be at the Mt. Hope Cemetery of Battle Creek.

Jimmie Ray Lewis was born at his family home in Battle Creek, Iowa to Francis and Alice (Schumacher) Lewis. He lived in Battle Creek his entire life with the exception of his time in the U.S. Army.

Jimmie was a machine operator and welder for Westendorf, Mfg. retiring after 39 years of employment.  He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and was a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his sister, Arlene Yokiel of West Des Moines, IA; and several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; great-great-nieces and nephews and one great-great-great niece and many wonderful cousins and friends.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Alice; brothers, Virgil, Lawrence and Donald Lewis; nephew, Lawrence, Jr. and niece, Lois Hovenga.
