Kelly Martin

Kelly C. Martin, age 58, of Moville, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at her home in Moville. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Moville with the Pastor Ed Pease officiating. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 from 4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. at the Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Moville. Burial will be at the Arlington Cemetery of Moville.

Kelly C. Martin was born March 26, 1966 in Sioux City, Iowa to Duane and Ann (Young) Hopp. Being raised on a farm, Kelly had a gift for caring for the farm animals and often would be in charge of the difficult ones. She was a graduate of Woodbury Central High School then earned her nursing degree from Morningside College.

Kelly was united in marriage to Irv Martin on August 20, 1988 in Moville. They were blessed with two daughters, Jordan and Ashley. Kelly was a lifelong resident of Moville and worked as a nurse for 29 years at Mercy Hospital and four years at the Dakota Dunes Surgical Center.

In her free time she enjoyed scrapbooking and flower gardening, especially caring for her rose bushes. Kelly was a dedicated supporter of anything that her daughters were involved with.  She loved spending time with her family and her pets.

Kelly is survived by her husband, Irv of Moville; daughters, Jordan (Christian) Schelhaas of Sioux Falls, SD and Ashley Martin of Moville, IA and her mother, Ann Hopp of Moville.

She was preceded in death by her father, Duane Hopp and her grandparents.
