LeWayne L. Hansen was born September 19, 1919 to William and Minnie (Vogt) Hansen in Correctionville, Iowa. He joined the United States Army on October 1, 1941 where he was a member of the E350th Infantry. He was discharged on September 29, 1945.
LeWayne was united in marriage to Lois J. Newton on April 11, 1946. He farmed for 11 years near Correctionville before moving into town. LeWayne then started working for Wilson Trailers, where he would work for the next 25 years. In 1984 they moved to Sioux City.
LeWayne was a former member of Grace United Methodist Church of Correctionville. He was a member of the American Legion for 70 years.
He is survived by his sons, Dennis (Janet) Hansen of James, IA, Michael (LeAnn) Hansen of Sergeant Bluff, IA; five grandchildren, Niki Hansen, Trisha Hansen, Corey Hansen, Traci Hansen, Tyler Hansen; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Deloris Dau; and brother, Rex Hansen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lois in January, 1993; brothers, Buford, Merland and John Hansen; brother-in-law, Vernon Dau; sister-in-law, Anette Hansen; and nephew, Ronney Hansen.
