Lois Ann Syndergaard, the daughter of Ernest and Virginia Seeley, was born February 8, 1942 at Galva, Iowa. She was confirmed in the Methodist Church in Galva, Iowa and also was a graduate of Galva High School.
Lois worked at Vista Producers, Graham Tire, Consumer Supply, Iowa Conservation and the Iowa DOT until her retirement in 2005.
Lois enjoyed her family and was extremely proud of her grandchildren. She also loved to spend time gardening, caring for her flowers and baking cookies and pies for her kids and grandchildren. Lois was very involved with watching her favorite sports teams, the Bulls and the Bears but nothing would interrupt her when the Iowa Hawkeyes were playing. Her children and grandchildren could always count on her giving a play-by-play account of her beloved Hawkeyes.
On April 10, 1959, she was united in marriage with the love of her life, Stanley Hanson Syndergaard in Elk Point, South Dakota. To this union were born five children. Her family made their home in Alta, Iowa, where they were members of the Trinity Lutheran Church until she joined the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Schaller, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Syndergaard; her son, Stanley "Butch" Syndergaard; her mother and father, Ernest and Virginia Seeley; and her brother, James Seeley.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Sharon and Randy Koch of Storm Lake, Sheila and Terry Flanigan of Storm Lake, Eddie and Melissa Syndergaard of Schaller, and Ernie Syndergaard of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She is also survived by her precious grandchildren who were her world, Jeremiah, Jacob, Ashley and Gary, Tia and Michael, Tyler and Stephanie; great-grandchildren, Grant, Elijah, McKayla, McKenzie, and future great-grandson Tristan; two sisters, Betty (Armon) Haselhoff of Schaller, Sherrie Mills of Storm Lake; and one brother, Phillip (Sue) Seeley of Cherokee along with a number of nephews and nieces and many other relatives and friends.
