Marian L. Brosamle, age 92, of Holstein, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2025 at the Holstein Senior Living of Holstein. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at the Faith Lutheran Church of Holstein with the Pastor Scott Bieker and Karl Nurnberger officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service at 1:00 P.M. at the Faith Lutheran Church of Holstein. Burial will be at the Holstein Cemetery of Holstein.
Marian Louise Brosamle was born on August 7, 1932 in Ida Grove, Iowa to Matthew Raymond and Jesse (Hanson) Hall. She graduated from Galva High School in 1950. Although Marian was quite proud of her Irish heritage, her favorite memory was playing in the 1949 State Basketball Tournament in Des Moines.
Marian was united in marriage to Richard Henry Brosamle on August 18, 1950 in Galva and they were blessed with 74 years of marriage. Marian and Dick raised their three children in Holstein.
Marian worked tirelessly alongside her husband as a farm wife until their retirement in 1993. She also drove the school bus for the Galva-Holstein school district for 17 years. She was an active member of the Ladies Circle and Sunday school teacher at St. Paul Lutheran Church. She later transferred her membership to Faith Lutheran Church. Marian enjoyed pitching in to help wherever she was needed.
In her free time Marian loved to read mysteries, do crossword puzzles and play Sudoku, cards and board games. She was always up for a game when the grandkids came to visit! Marian enjoyed spending winters in Texas and summers spent camping during their retirement.
She is survived by her husband, Richard “Dick”; children, Gary and his wife, Pat of Holstein, IA, Larry and his wife, Jeannie of Correctionville, IA, Cindy Wilcke and her husband Tom of Lake View, IA; grandchildren, Stacie (Tony) Englin of Garner, IA, Nicholas (Julia) Brosamle of Gilbert, IA, Alissah (Anthony) Albert of Sioux City, IA, Jacob (Tyse) Brosamle of Rock Valley, IA, Daniel Brosamle of Holstein, IA, Jeromy Johnson of Aurelia, IA, Chancey Wilcke (Josh Williams) of Ida Grove, IA, Chaps (Morgan) Wilcke of Oelwein, IA, Cassidy Wilcke of Sioux City, IA, Cheyenne Wilcke (Zach Hullinger) of Omaha, NE and Cash Wilcke of Oskaloosa, IA; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Matthew and Jesse Hall; sister, Elizabeth Gates and brother, John Hall.
