Marian G. (Gralapp) Morgan, 93, of Correctionville, IA, died  peacefully on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Willow Dale Wellness Center in Battle Creek, Iowa.

A visitation with the family present will be held from 10:30–11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the Meadows Country Club in Moville, IA. A prayer service will follow at 11:30 a.m., with Father Michael Erpelding officiating. A luncheon will be served immediately following the service. A private family burial will take place at a later date at the Correctionville Cemetery. Arrangements are under direction of the Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Moville.

Marian Gertrude Gralapp was born on February 13, 1932, to Elmer and Bernice (Sudduth) Gralapp in Le Mars, IA. She grew up in Sioux City, where she attended Catholic school, graduating in 1950 as part of the first class of Bishop Heelan High School. After high school, she worked in various jobs in the Sioux City area, including at Sioux Bee Honey.

On September 18, 1954, Marian married Robert “Lyle” Morgan in Sioux City, IA. Together, they raised five children and built a life on their farm near Rock Branch, Iowa. Marian embraced her role as a homemaker and mother, finding joy in caring for her family. She had a special talent for cooking and baking and became well-known for her skills in the kitchen.

During the farm crisis of the 1980s, Marian returned to work, taking positions with FSA and at a scale house for Terra. Once circumstances allowed, she returned to the role she loved most—being a homemaker.

Marian had many interests, including vegetable gardening, reading, bowling, playing cards, knitting, and crocheting. She was a devoted member of Immaculate Conception Church in Moville and enjoyed volunteering at the church food stand during the Woodbury County Fair. She also volunteered as a peer reviewer for nursing homes in Woodbury County, ensuring quality care for residents.

Above all, Marian’s greatest love was her family. She was an empathetic and caring soul, always ready to offer a listening ear or a helping hand. Her spunky, vibrant personality made an impression on everyone she met—you always knew where you stood with Marian.

She is survived by three children: Jim (Nan Mathers) Morgan of Correctionville, Tom (Lynn) Morgan of Moville, and Bob (Alexandria Mckenzie) Morgan of New York; a daughter-in-law, Danette Morgan of Cherokee; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; as well as a brother-in-law, Jim Morgan of Humboldt, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marian was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle Morgan; her parents, Elmer and Bernice Gralapp; her in-laws, Robert and Nellie Morgan; two children, Anna Marie Morgan and Ronald Morgan; and two brothers, Dale (Irma) Gralapp and Alan (Mona) Gralapp; sisters-in-law, Betty Ruth (Marshall) Ferdig and Rae Jean Morgan; and brother-in-law, Edgar “Gene” Morgan.

Honorary pallbearers will be Marian's grandchildren.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Willow Dale Wellness Center for the exceptional care and kindness they showed Marian.
