Marianne M. Heilman, age 84, of Holstein, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at the Aegis Living of Las Vegas, NV. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 10:30 AM at the United Methodist Church of Holstein with the Rev. Doresa K. Collogan officiating. Burial will be at the Cushing Cemetery of Cushing. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service starting at 9:30 AM at the church.
Marianne Heilman was born June 15, 1935 in Laudenbach, Germany to Friederich and Betty (Geyer) Bassauer. During her youth, the family moved to Heidelberg Germany. Marianne met her future husband, Earl while he was stationed in Heidelberg, and they were married in March of 1957.
Upon Earl’s discharge they moved to Lanesboro, IA. They started farming and a family with the birth of Kevin, in 1959. They then moved to Holstein in 1962 and had a second son, Daron, in 1965. Marianne became an Avon lady soon after and continued selling for over 50 years. She was naturalized as a US citizen in 1970.
Marianne was a longtime member of the Holstein United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women organization and a faithful member of the church choir.
Marianne is survived by her sons, Kevin and wife Patty of Sherwood, OR and their children, Alyssa and Michael; Daron and wife Dale of Las Vegas, NV and their children, Sha and Toni; and her twin sisters, Hannelore Diehm and Christa Ammann, both of Germany.
Marianne was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 59 years, Earl.
Memorials may be directed to the Holstein United Methodist Church camp scholarship fund.
