Marie A. Siebrecht

Marie Agnes Siebrecht was born June 20, 1924 in Odebolt, IA, the daughter of Loren and Jeanette Hummel. She was united in marriage to Glenn Siebrecht on May 1, 1942. To this union, five children were born.The family lived in Odebolt until 1955 when they moved to a farm near Storm Lake. In 1963 they left the farm and moved to Alta where she lived out her life. Marie was primarily a homemaker but also worked part time as a cook at the Alta schools and waitressed and cooked in various cafes in Alta. She enjoyed fishing with her friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; children, Carolyn Harris, Tom Siebrecht and Larry Siebrecht; two sisters; and six brothers. Marie is survived by her daughter, Bonnie and husband Rod Lubberstedt of Kerrville, TX; son, Doug Siebrecht of Alta, IA; eight grandchildren, Mike Siebrecht of Rembrandt, IA, Debbie Siebrecht of Des Moines, IA, Kathy Brock of Sioux Rapids, IA, Sara Siebrecht of Laurens, IA, Ryan Siebrecht of Sioux Rapids, IA, Craig Putensen of Tempe, AZ, Ken Putensen of Rochester, MN and Rick Alderson of MN; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Cheri Knudtson of Sioux Rapids; two sisters-in-law, MaryAnn Siebrecht of Odebolt, IA and Fernetta Siebrecht of Schaller, IA; as well as many nieces and nephews.
