Marilyn A (Anderson) Benson

Marilyn A. Benson, age 81, of Holstein, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at her home of Holstein.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 02, 2022 at 3:00 PM at the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church of Holstein with the Pastor Bob Lewis officiating.  Burial will be at the Holstein Cemetery of Holstein.  A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 02, 2022 from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church of Holstein.

Marilyn Adele Benson was born November 4, 1940 in Evanston, Illinois to David and Ada (Haroldson) Anderson.  She graduated from Waukegan Township High School then attended the University of Illinois.

Marilyn was united in marriage to Pastor Curtis E. Benson at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Holstein on September 27, 1997.

During her career, Marilyn was the administrator for GTE Rates and Tariff, retiring in 1997.  After retirement she volunteered at the Good Samaritan Society of Holstein, at St. Paul, for Wounded Warriors and for the VFW.  She had an uncanny knack for the stock market and Wheel of Fortune puzzles.

She is survived by her son, David Bayro (fiancée Irina Trofimchuk) of Seattle, WA; and daughters via marriage, Lisa Humphrey and husband Ron of Johnston, IA, Laura Pfeufer and husband Brian of Closter, NJ, Debra Benson and Alex Norman of Santa Monica, CA; granddaughters via marriage, Morgan Meyer, Jilian Meyer (fiancée Travis McMillan) of Des Moines, IA, Birdie Pfeufer of Closter, NJ and Taylor Humphrey of Ankeny, IA, Coco Norman of Santa Monica, CA; grandsons via marriage, Connor Humphrey of Ankeny, IA and Ty and Cole Pfeufer of Closter, NJ and many nieces and nephews.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Pastor Curtis Benson and brothers, John and Randall Anderson.
