Mark A. Dutler, age 62, of Holstein, passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at the CHI Health Immanuel of Omaha, NE. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church of Holstein with Pastor Bob Lewis officiating the service. Burial will be at the Holstein Cemetery of Holstein. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church of Holstein.
Mark Arlo Dutler was born on April 4, 1959 to Harold and Elsie Mordhorst Dutler. He grew up on the family farm two miles south of Holstein, IA. He was baptized and confirmed at St Paul Lutheran Church in Holstein IA. He graduated from Holstein High School in 1978.
After high school he went to Western Iowa Tech in Sioux City for a year and started farming. He enjoyed farming and going fishing. He also enjoyed a couple trips out west. In 1995 he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and lost the use of his right side.
He is survived by his mom Elsie Dutler; sister Bev Dutler Fick (Keith) and their children, Kristi Fick (Mike) Reszenko, Deanne Fick Busta (Doug) and Addison, Kevin Fick (Amanda) Tanner, Hayden and Morgan; brother James Dutler (Roxy) and their children, Stephenie Dutler, Engle (Nick) Katelyn and Madison, Chad Dutler (Keely) Kinzey, Colton and Shae. Eric Dutler (Stephenie) Kiara, Ethan and Tyler; brother Gene Dutler (Nadine) and son Joshua and his finance Beth; and sister Karen Dutler. Along with one aunt, Delores Parker and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Dutler.
