Martha Ann (Hair) Schram was born Feb. 12, 1930 to George William and Viola Merle (Davis) Hair in Sioux City, IA. Martha’s family moved around a lot but mostly in the Smithland and Anthon area. She married Donald Schram on Sept 14, 1949. To this union three children were born. Martha and Don had a big interest in travel, which they did until failing health forced them to stop. Many a weekend would find Martha and Don traveling on a little road trip just looking at the countryside. There was not one historical marker along the way that they didn’t pull over and read. Martha was a dedicated homemaker and mother and her talent was definitely in the kitchen. Martha loved music and singing. She was especially proud of receiving her GED later in life.
