Maurice “Morey” Regennitter was born on October 15, 1930 to Albert John and Flora Mae (Coon) Regennitter at Silver Township, Cherokee, Iowa. Growing up he enjoyed living on their family farm and working in the fields. He lived in Iowa most of his life but did spend some time living in Arizona and California.
He was united in marriage to his wife, Opal on February 24, 1961. To this union four children were born. Morey worked as a laborer and did everything from driving a maintainer and semi to working the mines and farming. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, playing cards, shooting pool, and shooting the bull over a beer. He faithfully attended “Sunday School” at Ed’s place. Morey enjoyed spending holidays and birthdays at the farm with family as well as fishing with his grandchildren, especially his grandson Steven. He will be remembered as someone who always had a joke or story that was sure to make everyone laugh, as well as being the best euchre partner ever!
Morey was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Dale Regennitter; brothers, Don, Jim and Kenny Regennitter and Kenny, Claton, Fred and Harold Hollingshead; sisters, Annabelle Paulsen, Una Regenniter and Ruby Hollingshead.
He is survived by his wife, Opal of Marcus, Iowa; children, Mary (Chad) Reinhart of Odebolt, IA, Ronald Regennitter of LeMars, IA, Judy (Richard) Davis of Bemidji, MN, Kathy Grinstend of Crestin, IA, Edna “Susie” Chisholm of Hotchkiss, CO and Edwin Regennitter of York, NE. He is also survived by grandchildren, Steven (Alecia) Regennitter, Trista Regennitter and “husband” Wayne King, Andrew (Brittney) Regennitter, Justin Todd (fiancée, Aqua), Chance, Rylee, Ramsey and Jaxynn Davis, Kylee Regennitter, Kirsten and Hailey Reinhart, Charity Reginnitter, Joshua (Marleen) Riddle and Joe Chisholm. He shared an extra special love with his great-grandchildren, Reise, Logan, Jorja, DeLanie, Adrian, Jaestin and Cali.
