Mildred M. Johnson was born April 29, 1919 in the Truesdale, Iowa area to Ivan and Susie (Siqlin) Bodine. She was one of four children.
Mildred was united in marriage to Kenneth Johnson on September 5, 1940. To this union two sons were born, Alyn and Galyn.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting and attending her children and grandchildren’s events, as she was able.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Dorthy in infancy and Adeline Mathaleda.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Johnson of Ankeny, IA; sister, Lorraine Bernice; sons, Alyn Johnson and wife Judy of Cedar Rapids, IA, Galyn Johnson and wife Glenda of Ankeny, IA; grandchildren, Derek Johnson and wife Lorey of Charleston, SC, M ichelle Schroder and husband Mike of Ankeny, IA, and Melissa Carter of Ankeny, IA; great-grandchildren, Ryan Schroder, Malorie Schroder, Addison Carter, Casen Carter and Tinsley Johnson.
Funeral:
Mildred M. Johnson, age 94, of Ankeny, formerly of Alta, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2013 at the Taylor House Hospice of Des Moines. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 16, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of A
Burial:
Burial will be at the Scandinavian Cemetery of Alta. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
