Mindy was born on July 28th, 1979 at Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove, Iowa, to parents Daniel Jay Lorenzen and Pamela Kay (Rohde) Lorenzen. She grew up in Battle Creek, Iowa, became a member of the First Presbyterian Church, and graduated from Battle Creek-Ida Grove High School in 1997. Shortly after graduating, Mindy accepted a job working at VT Industries in Holstein.
Mindy met Joshua Lee Jensen of Correctionville, IA in March of 2004. He quickly fell in love with her infectious smile and laugh, and from thereafter they became inseparable. Mindy and Josh were united in marriage on August 19, 2006 and they made their home in Holstein, Iowa. They were blessed with two beautiful sons, Kinnick Cade (5) born July 20, 2007, and Karver Daniel (1) born on September 29, 2011. All three of “her boys” were her pride and joy and she felt her family was her greatest gift in life.
Mindy’s love of clothes and jewelry led her to pursue a short career as Manager of The Buckle in Storm Lake, but ultimately she returned home to her VT Industries ‘family’, where she worked as a Project Coordinator. Mindy devoted most of her time to her family and friends and was known for her beautiful smile, her contagious laugh, her happy nature, and bubbly personality. Mindy loved taking shopping trips with her sisters and aunt, watching her husband and boys play sports, spending time with her dad and family around the campfire at the lake, “girls night out” with special friends and most of all, laughing. No matter the occasion, Mindy could be found laughing.
Mindy was a beautiful person on the inside and out. Her generous soul and caring spirit allowed her to touch countless people during her lifetime. It will be stories of these memories that will provide her family and friends comfort while teaching her boys about the amazing grace of their Mommy.
Mindy was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Bob and Meredith Lorenzen and maternal grandmother, Donna Rohde.
Those left to celebrate Mindy’s life include: her husband, Josh and two children, Kinnick and Karver Jensen of Holstein, IA; her father, Dan Lorenzen and special friend, Vicki Blatchford of Battle Creek, IA; her mother, Pam Lorenzen of Sioux City, IA, mother-in-Law, Connie Jensen of Correctionville, IA, father-in-Law, Terry (Barb) Jensen of Sheboygan, WI; siblings, Dana (Tom) Grafft, nephew, Tayler and niece, Chloe of Storm Lake, IA; Toya Lorenzen and special friend, Tyler Farrell of Sioux City, IA; and Cody Lorenzen and special friend, Danielle Corbin of Battle Creek, IA; brothers-in-Law, Trent (Danielle) Jensen of Cushing, IA; Brock and fiancé Carissa Cleveringa, of Orange City, IA; and grandparents, Bob (Rita) Rohde of Ida Grove, IA. Mindy was also loved by many extended family members consisting of aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends.
Visitation:
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 06, 2012 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM with the family present from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers, accounts for Kinnick and Karver has been established at Heritage Bank 101 N. Main St. Holste
Funeral:
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 07, 2012 at 10:30 AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Battle Creek with the Rev. Kevin J. Freese officiating.
Burial:
Burial will be at the Mt. Hope Cemetery of Battle Creek.
