Norine M. Lorenzen, age 96, of Holstein, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2022 at her home of Holstein. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 1:30 PM at the United Methodist Church of Holstein with the Rev. Betty Kiboko officiating. Burial will be at the Holstein Cemetery of Holstein. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service starting at 12:30 PM at the church.
Norine M. Lorenzen was born April 15, 1926 to Rudolph and Elsie Caroline (Weber) Arp at their rural home south of Holstein. She attended rural school and graduated from Holstein High School.
Norine married Robert Lorenzen on June 4, 1946 and made their home in Holstein. They were blessed with two daughters Betty and Bonnie.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school, was a member of Rebecca and Dorcas circles, American Legion Auxiliary and Quilt Batts in Cherokee. Norine enjoyed her garden and flowers and making quilts for missions at the church.
After the death of her husband in 1967 she worked at Tom’s Super Valu many years.
She is survived by daughters, Betty (Jim) Wienert and Bonnie (Lee) Barkema; grandchildren, Kyle (Susan) Wienert, Eric (Sinsiri) Wienert, Scott (Kim) Wienert, Daniel Barkema and Laura Barkema; great-grandsons, Carter, Everett, Logan, Tyler, Cody and Spencer Wienert; sisters, Dorothy Henderson, Mary (Delbert) Shever; and brothers, Harold and Harlan Arp; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Norma and husband Lewis Hammer; sisters-in-law, Sharlotte and Sandra Arp; brother-in-law, Lloyd Henderson; nephews, Stevan Shever and Aaron Shever; nieces, Georgia Henderson, Debbie Wright and Sharlotte Watson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the United Methodist Church of Holstein or your favorite charity.
