Patricia "Trish" Lea (Mckinnis) Niemeier

Patricia L. Niemeier, age 66, of Galva, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at her home of Galva.  A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022 at 10:00 AM at the St. John’s Lutheran Church of Galva with the Rev. Paul D. Egger officiating.  Burial will be at the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery of Galva.  A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2022 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the St. John’s Lutheran Church of Galva.

Patricia Lea Niemeier was born June 3, 1956 to Robert and Genevieve (Morris) McKinnis in Storm Lake, Iowa.  She graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1974.

Trish was united in marriage to Dennis Niemeier on May 19, 1978 in Galva, Iowa.  To this union two children were born, Rachel and Michael.  They raised their family in Galva.  Trish worked at various places over the years including the United Bank of Iowa and the Galva Public Library, retiring in 2020.

Trish was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where she belonged to Ladies Aid.  She loved to garden and can produce.  She enjoyed crocheting, cross-stitch, reading and spending time with family.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis; daughter, Rachel Swales and husband Chris of Denver, IA; son, Michael Niemeier and wife Samantha of Spirit Lake, IA; grandchildren, Gabriel, Grace and Josiah Swales and Nicole, Carl, Rhett and Noel Niemeier; brother, Robert Francis and partner Sally Williams.

Trish was preceded in death by her father, Robert McKinnis; mother, Genevieve Carnine and step-father, Lester Carnine.
