Regina W. Olson

August 6, 1925 — December 29, 2015

Regina W. Olson was born August 6, 1925 in Charter Oak, Iowa to Rudolph and Winifred (Kessler) Adams. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith in Charter Oak. She received her education in the Charter Oak-Ute Schools.

In 1942 Regina went to Kansas City, MO and worked at the North American Aviation building B-25 Mitchell Bombers. She was a riveter on the wing section, and earned the nickname “Reggie the Riveter.” In later years she worked at the Vilas Turkey Plant in Storm Lake for six years and then worked at the Melody Inn and Megan Louise Restaurants.

Regina was united in marriage to Willard “Bud” Olson on November 20, 1945 at St. Boniface Church in Charter Oak, IA. To this union three children were born: Rick, RoxAnne and Rusty. Regina and Willard moved to Galva, Iowa after they were married, where they spent the rest of their lives.

Regina cherished the memories made while taking many family trips to Minnesota fishing. She enjoyed ceramics, reading, gardening, word searches and watching Wheel of Fortune. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Rick and wife Jeanie Olson of Vergas, MN, RoxAnne and husband Jon Jensen of Galva, IA, Rusty and wife Vicky of Columbia, MO; six grandchildren, Eric and wife Alicia Olson of Littleton, CO, Mike and Jaime Olson of Baraboo, WI, Mandi and husband Maas Hinz of Millers Well, Australia, Nathan and wife Nancy Jensen of Storm Lake, IA, Nick and wife Sara Jensen of Holstein, IA and Olivia Jensen of Austin, TX; twelve great-grandchildren, Peyton and Teagan Olson, Chase, Landon and Reese Olson, Natasha and Noah Hinz, Elli and Braxton Jensen, and Rowan, Raif and Ryan Jensen; sister-in-law, Scharlyene Adams; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 54 years, Willard; brothers, Vincent, Clarence, Frank, Wayne and Paul; and sister, Rose Mary Sharp.
