Richard K. Streeter

August 25, 1929 — July 20, 2015

Dick was born August 25, 1929, the son of the late Tracy Mae and Everett Streeter. He graduated from Correctionville High School in 1948 and worked as a plumber with his father in Correctionville until he entered the Navy in 1948.

He married the late Marjorie Streeter in October of 1950. They resided in Correctionville, IA until moving to Moville, IA where Dick owned and operated his own Standard Oil gas station and tank wagon service. Life’s journeys took Dick from Moville, IA to St. Louis, MO, and eventually settling in Storm Lake IA. In 1980 Dick lost his wife Marjorie to a brief battle with cancer.

He married Betty Juelfs in September of 1983. They resided in Storm Lake, IA where at one point they both worked for the Storm Lake Community Schools. After retirement Dick and Betty moved to Correctionville, IA.

Dick was an excellent bowler and participated in several bowling leagues during his lifetime. He was very passionate about and was an extremely gifted woodworker, having made many items for family members throughout his life. He enjoyed following his grandsons, Jeremy and Justin, in all their athletic events. He so enjoyed each and every visit from his great grandchildren and enjoyed watching them in all their activities. In his heart he found a deep love for the state of Montana, especially Cooke City, where he resided with his parents for two years. He often traveled to visit Cooke City in his later years.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Marjorie; his parents Tracy Mae and Everett Streeter; sister and brother-in-law Mavis and Wayne Kirkpatrick; and step grandson Donnie Reimers.

He is survived by his wife Betty; daughters Cynthia (Kent) Dittmer and Catherine Foster; step-son Dennis (Shirley) Juelfs; step-daughters Donna (Joe) Reimers, Jolene (Bob) Hansen, Julie (Randy) Vaughn and Lori Petersen (finance’ Mike Shields). Also left to cherish his memory are grandchildren, Jeremy (Tera) Parks and Justin (Laura) Parks; step-grandchildren Tim Hoaglund, David (Heather) Juelfs, Tim (Joie) Pauley, Brent (Shari) Hansen, Brenda (Sean) Mayer, Brandi (John) Zevenbergen, Trisha (Keenan) Deutsch, Nick Petersen, Josh, Jenny and Jacob Lau; five great-grandchildren; 18 step great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
