Robert “Bob” Hoppe was born at Cushing, Iowa on January 11, 1925 to Henry and Rosa Hoppe. He graduated from high school at Cushing Consolidated, and farmed near Cushing until 1968. Thereafter, he was employed in Storm Lake, Cherokee, and Loveland, CO. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cushing, and remained an active member of the church his entire life. He spent more than 30 winters in Arizona, where he died suddenly of a stroke on April 4.
He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his sons, Steven of San Francisco, Wayne of Chicago; his daughter, Debra Grady of Sioux Falls; his grandson, Christopher Grady of Spearfish, SD; and his dear partner, Joan Robinson, of Arnolds Park, IA, formerly of Des Moines.
