Roland K. Stahl was born on September 1, 1919, in Winside, Nebraska, the son of Max and Emma (Brogren) Stahl. He served his country for four years in the 3rd Armored Division of the U.S. Army during WWII with time in England, France, and Germany. He was an avid re-cycler and was often seen picking up cans and trash from the road-sides, ditches, and curb-sides in Galva. He loved to play Bingo, cards, and games of all kinds. Roland was a member of the American Legion and the Galva Methodist Church.

Survivors also include sister-in-laws, Evelyn Stahl and Betty Waller; brother-in-law, Norval (Cindy) Waller; plus many nephews and nieces.
