Sandra Kay Oatman was born October 15, 1944 in Cherokee, Iowa to Lloyd and Anna (Hames) Sullivan. Growing up, Sandra always had a very strong work ethic, as she worked as a cook for Kenabob in Storm Lake for 20 years.
She was united in marriage on July 2, 1966 to Leslie James Oatman. Sandra helped Les where she could while farming in the Alta and Storm Lake area. In her free time, Sandra loved to play bingo and go to the casinos. She also enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and three brothers, Jim, Bob and Vernon.
Survivors include her four sons, Wilbur Oatman of Alta, Iowa, Tom Oatman of Alta, Iowa, Mike Oatman of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Jim Oatman of South Dakota; two daughters Marlene (Randy) Mason of Ft. Dodge, Iowa, and Betty Nieland of Iowa; two sisters, Mary and Joyce; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
