Shane A. Swanson was born on May 21, 1975 to Steven and Colleen (Meighan) Swanson in Ames, Iowa. He graduated from Alta High School in 1993. After graduation Shane went to Air Force Basic Training in San Antonio and graduated in 1996. He was stationed in Ellsworth AFB in the 37th Bomb Squadron until 2007. In 2008 he transferred to Whiteman AFB in Knob Noster, MO in the 509th Aircraft Maintenance.
Shane’s son, Cameron was born on February 29, 2000.
Shane was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Albert Swanson and Walter Meighan; and a great-uncle, Harry Swanson.
He is survived by his son, Cameron James Swanson of Taylorsville, KY; parents, Steven and Colleen Swanson of Rembrandt, IA; sisters, Kelli Pedersen and husband Ron of Alta, IA and Keisha Trimble and husband Bryon of Storm Lake, IA; nieces and nephews, Kodey, Kash and Kerrigan Pedersen and Kiera Aberson; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
