Shellie Rae Johnson was born Mar. 22, 1963 in Davenport, IA to Vernon and Mary Johnson. As a child, Shellie’s family moved to St. Helens, OR where she attended Mc Bride Elementary School and St. Helens Jr. High School. As a young girl she enjoyed the outdoors, riding bicycles and playing softball. After moving to Galva with her family, Shellie attended Galva Community High School.
In 1982, Shellie was united in marriage to David Mildenstien of Ida Grove, IA. The couple traveled extensively throughout David’s military career, spending several years in Japan. The couple’s marriage ended in 1988.
In 1988 Shellie met Richard Gill of Davenport, IA. The couple was united in marriage in 1996 and enjoyed a loving marriage until her untimely passing.
Shellie enjoyed her life in Galva as a wife, homemaker and friend to many. In her free time she enjoyed crafting, gardening and caring for her many pets.
Shellie is preceded in death by her mother Mary Johnson.
Survivors include her loving husband of 18 years, Richard Gill of Galva, IA; her father, Vernon Johnson (Victoria “Jean”) of Galva, IA and her brother, Jeffrey Johnson (Maureen) of Blue Springs, MO.
