Thelma E. Sherwood was born on December 13, 1931 to Harold and Thelma Davis. She graduated from Alta High School in 1949. In 1951, Thelma married Gene Sherwood. They enjoyed 42 years of married life together. They enjoyed family, friends, golfing and bowling. Thelma attended Hope Evangelical Free Church in Storm Lake, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gene; two brothers and one sister.
Thelma is survived by her five children, Tim (Lauren) Sherwood of Denver, CO, Mike (Judy) Sherwood of Webster City, IA, Mark (Deb) Sherwood of Waterloo, IA, Wendy (Land) White of Longmont, CO, and Melissa (Jon) Kulp of Pocahontas, IA; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and brother, Dale Davis of Alta, IA.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 08, 2013 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Alta.
