Velda Joyce Lohff was born February 26, 1930 to Hugo and Lydia (Schwenk) Ehler in Ida Grove, Iowa. She attended country school in Logan Township #6 and graduated from Ida Grove High School in 1947. Velda was active in 4-H and served as president for the Ida County club for one year. She was a vocal soloist in church and school events.
Velda was united in marriage to Raymond Lohff on June 10, 1951. To this union one son, Geoffrey was born.
Velda was a beautiful painter in oil, watercolor and porcelain. She belonged to various art clubs in the area. She was an amateur Ham Radio license holder. Velda enjoyed reading, sewing, needlework and helping doing fieldwork on their farm.
She is survived by her son, Geoffrey Lohff of Williamsburg, Iowa; grandchildren, Alan, Aaron and Alanna Lohff.
Velda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; brothers, Vernon and Francis; sisters Sylvia Heilman and Phyllis Still; and brother-in-law, Glen Still.
